Active nematics : A Theorist’s overview
In this talk I will discuss the well developed theory of active nematics from a pedagogical perspective. After a discussion of the phenomenology in 2D systems, I will present some new results on 3D systems, including the topological aspects of the instability of ordered states and the emergence of coherent self-pumping flow states.
