Freezing impacting drop
LadHyx, Ecole Polytechnique
Drop impacts on subfreezing cold surface lead a variety of frozen splat, depending on the impact parameters and the substrate properties. I will present some of the results we have obtained these last years on this problems, using experimental observations and theoretical analysis. I will particularly focus on the morphology of the frozen drop and its mechanical stability.
