Last september, the LIGO experiment has detected gravitational waves (GW) for the first time. This first revolution has been recently followed by the second detection of binary black hole merger which gathers some more information on this specific kind of astrophysical sources. A century after their prediction by Albert Einstein´s theory of general relativity, GW are now the corner stone of a new astronomy. The presentation will be divided in two parts : a brief summary of the equivalent principle which underlies the whole theory of general relativity, then some more precisions on the 2-3 recent detections.
