Sauf mention contraire, les séminaires et les soutenances se déroulent à 11h30 en salle 454A du bâtiment Condorcet.
During her PhD at MSC Lab, Camille Gaulon has also been involved in different activities to share science with a general public. This presentation is an invitation to discover the world of public engagement with science. Maybe it could also make the young researchers want to try !
Abstract : I will talk to you about public engagement with science, and give you different ideas, places and events where passionate young researchers like you could share science with a general audience. Palais de la Découverte, Cité des Sciences, Pint of Science festival (to talk about science in a bar !), writing articles, science fest, meetings with high school students... There’s a lot of opportunities, for everyone’s taste. I hope after that you will be impatient to give a try, and then maybe even more impatient to start again ! I’ll also try to give you a list of skills you can learn or improve by doing this type of activity, to show you how it could be useful for you even if you don’t plan to be a scientific popularizer for the rest of your life ;) If you also already participated in some science communication / popularization / vulgarization, please come and share it with us !
