I work on the physics and physiology of organ development in the embryo, with a particular focus on development of the digestive tract. I use mostly chicken but almost mouse embryos as developmental model animals, we apply micromechanical techniques (fiber cantilevers, Atomic Force Microscopy), biological techniques (pharmacological inhibitors, organ culture, electrophysiology) and imaging methods ranging from simple optical microscopy to advanced second-harmonic generation imaging or live confocal calcium imaging. My scientific interests are biophysics, development, physical chemistry, general physics, physics applied to evolution, history of science and physics education (www.iypt.fr).
