Capillary interactions

How does a particle trapped at a fluid/vapor interface interacts with the contact line surrounding the interface? We attempt to relate the force exerted on the particle to the local shape of the interface at the point where it is deposited. We study the case of an homogeneous spherical particle, trapped at an interface with an arbitrary shape, in the presence or not of gravity and a pressure difference across the interface.
