I am working on the real-time control of gene expression at the single cell level in yeast. This will be achieved using light-sensitive proteins for the regulation of transcription (optogenetics), cell culture in microfluidic devices and time-lapse microscopy. I am also studying how resource allocation in yeast cells influence proliferation under repeated osmotic stress.
